I couldnt survive without my diary - its got a week to view. I put everything into it. Not just what is due to happen but also what has already happened so that I can look back if I need to.
I also make notes of things ‘to do’ and work my way through the list.
I keep scrap paper and make myself notes if a job needs to be done that day and leave it somewhere conspicuous. Or a post it which can be stuck somewhere obvious.
And I ask people to remind me of things I have to do that day - for some reason my husband might forget what he has to do easily but tends to remember what he has to remind me of what I have to do!!

I don’t take anything for MS, but I bought my Dad a day by day pill box covering one week. Now he’s no longer with us, my husband uses it. He only takes one pill, but it’s important and now he knows when he’s about run out, so gets his order in on time. For people with more pills, I’ve seen larger ones with different arrangements, including one covering a month and one only a day, but with four large compartments. Make filling it from the blister packs a routine. Oh, and they are in Braille too, if you can’t see well as many MS people can’t.

i’ve got a timex data links watch that i can put daily alarms and appointments in, just like a PDA.  unlike a PDA that i can misplace or forget to take, it is always with me since it is a watch. my only concern is that i am extremely dependent upon it. since i can get so involved in doing something that i totally forget about an appointment, if/when it breaks, which it has, i am totally screwed.

Filofax do great “City Planner” diaries now, where you have work / life / play sections on a week per 2 pages calendar.  There is plenty of space to remind yourself of the “life” things (taking meds, completing tasks etc) as well as remembering all those appointments and nights out that slip the mind until it’s too late!

There is a great service (free for short ones) “voice recognition-to-email” dictation device called “JOTT” - Remember something to do? How do you jot it down quickly so you don’t forget? Just dial 1-866-JOTT-1234, and speak away! Your EXACT words will show up as an email on your computer, which you can then print out (HARDCOPY FOR A GREAT ‘REMINDER/TO-DO’ PIECE, OR TRANSCRIBE TO PLANNER, ETC.)  There is also the “SlyDial” service (1-267-SLY-DIAL) which lets you send a ring-free voice mail to another phone. You can retrieve it at a better time. After all, 95% of being “smart” is timing: DOING SOMETHING (ANYTHING!) AT THE TIME YOU REMEMBER IT BY ‘LATERALING’ THE BALL TO ANOTHER ‘TOOL’ for later-retrieval. In an earlier time, this was often called your admin assistant! Now it’s up to you. These pointers above let me do it . . . Maybe you too?

I have a recurring alarm set on my mobile phone to remind me to take my tablets. I have used a loud, fairly unpleasant tune which I am unable to ignore and make sure I take the tablets at the same time as I turn it off.

I have 2 things that help - a whiteboard in the kitchen that I can write things on e.g. shopping lists. It’s also magnetic so lists of dates such as beta-interferon deliveries get put on there.  My friends also love it and draw all over it when they come over, so it cheers us all up as well.

Also, I have a photo organiser (one of those clippy things) that lives near the front door.  If I have to pay a bill, or post a letter, or give something to my boyfriend, it goes there.

I put all appointments in my online google calendar, & set it to email me reminders in advance: you can opt for as many reminders as you think you’ll need for an event, & have them sent any number of days, hours, or even minutes in advance.

I put my car keys with anything I need to take along (food in the fridge, gift, briefcase, lunch bag). Since I can’t drive away without my car keys, I’m reminded about the article just as I leave, not after I’m already on my way.
